About Georgia 400

Highway Georgia 400 has been continuously expanded and lengthened since the late 1980′s to relieve the traffic burdens on I-75, Peachtree Industrial Boulevard (Hwy. 141), Hwy. 9, I-85 and all off the east-west cross-connecting routes.  It starts where it brances north off I-85 north of downtown Atlanta and continues into North Georgia.

In general, Ga. 400 passes by the following major communities: North Atlanta, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Roswell, Alpharetta, Milton, Cumming and Johns Creek.  Surprisingly, commuters and residents in this area seem to use the North and South routes almost equally to get to and from work, whereas when the highway was first constructed, it was designed to allow morning traffic south and evening traffic north.
